Whilst only 2 WRR members took on the Porthcawl 10k the conditions started great for running though a little humid. The pre-run information, race set up and organisation was everything you come to expect from the Run 4 Wales crew (this being the 3rd of a series of 4 South Wales 10k events). This event is only in its 3rd year and I had the feeling that they/re still learning what to do with the route around the Porthcawl seafront/ town centre area to give a compact event but one which would be different to the other 10k events Different it certainly was – a run of 2 halves with the first 5k being a flat route which took in the Trecco Park caravan park & Coney Island amusement park (literally running through the centre of them). The second half was around the town area with some slight bumps included. The finish line being on the promenade area The usual type of tee & medal being the reward for completing the race If you know the area then there would be no need to pre-book parking though this did seem in plentiful supply. Post race there were numerous places to enjoy the hospitality which Porthcawl had to offer on a sunny Sunday morning
