Our run report from this year's edition comes from Hiedi Blackmore....who managed a PB despite the tropical downpour!

Good turnout from White Rock Runners in the Ponty Rodents Reverse 10 race in Penalta. The only race that counts down in Reverse.
www
At the beginning of the race, it was cold, windy with some drizzle. I had to reluctantly take my waterproof poncho off and show off my club colour’s. The race began and it quickly turned from drizzle to heavy rain downpours, which continued throughout the race.

At first, I was dodging the puddles to avoid getting my trainers wet, but once I reached the top of the big hill at mile 2, I thought ‘what’s the point!’.
www
I was soaked through from head to toe and I still had 8 miles to go. As I splashed in the puddles and wiped away the forever rain in my face, I took in the beautiful scenery which took my mind off the weather. The volunteers at Ponty Rodents Runners kept me motivated and cheered me on at each mile. I chatted to other friendly runners and shared how much fun we were having before reaching that finish line. As each member of White Rock Runners passed by, we all encouraged each other to the end.
www
As I crossed the finish line absolutely drenched with a big smile on my face, with a near 4-minute PB in the bag.
www
Was it worth it? Absolutely!
