Roll up, roll up - it's Awards Season! Sarah Scire wraps up the running year below.

Sunday 16th March 2025 saw White Rock Runners and Triathletes gathering for our annual AGM and awards night, and our third time at the The Bike Lock in Cardiff City Centre as our venue. The world famous fish finger and hot halloumi rolls keep us coming back - that and the brilliant hospitality by Tom and the team.

Every year the club gathers to reflect on the past years' training and racing, celebrate our achievements and hand out our prestigious slate trophies to our deserving winners including Male and Female Champions, parkrun Champion and Runner of the Year - the latter being voted by the members and revealed on the night. For White Rock, it's all about celebrating achievements big and small - from time and distance PBs, to consistent attendance at sessions or supporting others on race days, and people pushing themselves and trying new events.

Our Club Chair, Secretary and Treasurers also provided updates from the committee, including club finances, training sessions and racing plans for the year ahead. We shared details of club membership fees and opened the floor to ideas on how we can recruit more members, plans for a social club event and internal events/races, upcoming club parkrun tourism, volunteer 'takeover' and club kit - watch this space for the season ahead as lots of exciting things are planned. It was great to hear everyone's enthusiasm in the room to keep making White Rock what it is - friendly, inclusive, and fun.
